We Miss You California!

We are back from a week long trip in sunny California! I'll be honest, I don't think I ever imagined a trip like that going as smoothly as it did! It had it's bumps, but all in all it was SO much fun. It was so fun to focus on William, doing things that he would want to do, going at his pace. Danny had to go for work, so we decided to join him (since William flies free for another month, and was free at Disneyland and Sea World). It was fun to spoil him, knowing that he won't get all of our attention like that once baby girl arrives.
I don't have any pictures on the plane! Arg. I did, but I accidentally deleted them. But he LOVED the plane. Danny flew out in the morning, and William and I left that evening. I packed all kinds of things, worrying about how he'd handle it, but he LOVED it. He was just amazed by everything. Especially the noises. We sat right behind the wing (I figured him being able to see it would make it a little more real to him) and he watched fascinated as we took off and landed. He'd see the light at the end of the wing and say "moon!"
Day 1 was accidentally spent at the Los Angeles Zoo. We had intended to go to Griffith Park, but found ourselves at the Zoo instead. It was such a cool zoo! I just can't figure out why they don't build zoos on flat ground. Hills everywhere. More to come on that, I thought I'd start with my favorite pictures from Day 2: The beach. While Danny was working for those 2 days, William and I spent one morning at the gorgeous pool at our hotel, and then hit the beach after naptime. I love these first two pictures. I didn't think he'd ever make it to the water, because he was so fascinated by the sand. He'd stop every 2 to 3 steps to squat down and pick up another handful.

We found a cool spot and played until the sun went down. What a perfect time to be there.

William and I went down close to the water, but far enough away that it wouldn't get us. It was warm, but not that warm. One big wave did send the water up to our feet though. It surprised William so much that he fell back and sat in it. I grabbed him quick so he wouldn't get too wet, and put him down up higher. These are the faces he gave me. He thought it was so funny!

But as funny as it was, he wouldn't go near it again. I don't blame him. The water was pretty cold!

William loved watching the Life Guard drive around the beach.

After a while he realized he was a little chilly

Right as we were leaving they turned the lights on the little restaurant. It looked pretty cool! We were sad Danny couldn't be there on the beach, but it was sure fun to play with my cute little William!
