Baby Ann

Our sweet baby Ann Eddington has been here for a week now! St. Patrick's Day will never be the same.  She was 7 lbs and 20 inches. Poor William has been sick all week, so it has been a pretty crazy week. Even being sick he has been adjusting to Baby Annie very well. He loves giving her kisses (on the top of her head), and shares his toys with her. He loves to show her things, saying, "Baby Annie, look at this!" and holds up a toy for her to see. 

She is a sweetheart, and we can't get enough of her! She sleeps a ton, letting us get a little bit of sleep at night. She fills her diaper faster than any baby I've ever seen, and I think I'm destined to have babies with tiny mouths and tongue ties, just so nursing won't be too easy.

It's fun to spot little similarities between her and William. We can't wait to watch them grow together.

 We love her dark hair, and how long it is in the back! We could stare at her tiny toes and fingers all day. We love cuddling our sweet baby Ann!

enjoying the weather while we wait...

This beautiful weather has sure made waiting for baby a lot easier! William and I have spent a LOT of time outside lately. Last week we went to the zoo. We didn't see very many animals, but he loves the train and the merry-go-round, and we spent a lot of time on the play ground.

 William, when given the choice, will ALWAYS choose his fireman boots. We got these for him for Halloween last year, and they finally fit him comfortably! He loves them.

 The zoo has changed a lot from when we'd go as kids, but it was fun that he liked this old elephant slide that they've had for so long! I lost track pretty quick of how many times he went down!

 It's always fun to just follow him around and see what he decides to try. We went in the cave where he loved looking at the bats and sticking his head out of the little mole holes.

 Then the other day we decided to walk down to the Brigham Young park around the corner. It was closed, so we wandered over to the City Creek park. Buzz and Woody joined us. Of course.

 He loved running back and forth over the bridge over and over.

 After a while he looked at me and said, "See temple?", so our next stop was Temple Square. I love that he loves going there so much. He has certain places he likes to wander to. One is the reflection pond (surprise surprise).

 After I told him we weren't going to touch the water today he looked at me and said "bye bye! See ya!". In other words, leave me alone. I want to play in the water!

 He was good though, and moved on. I guess I wasn't fast enough for him, because he gave me a demanding look and said "Come on mommy!"

 His next request were the temple stairs. The gates were open that day, so we got to walk around right up next to the temple. The huge stairways and giant doors fascinate him.

I love being able to spend my time with William. Lately, when he prays, he likes to add in his own list of things he's thankful. He'll say specific friends, cousins, or aunts and uncles. It's pretty impressive to watch him and listen to him! He has a lot to say. Weird to think that within the next few days we are going to be adding a baby girl to our family!

Conference is coming...and so is The Cheesecake Factory

This morning William and I bundled up to walk down to Harmon's for a few things. I put his coat on him, a beanie, and then a nice warm blanket. We were sure surprised when we walked outside... I cooked on the way over there. It was such a nice morning! We got what we needed, hurried home, put clothes on William instead of his pj's, shed a few layers and went out to enjoy the morning. I pushed him on his trike until we got to one of his favorite spots on Temple Square, where he got off to run around. It was gorgeous. I wish I had taken my camera along to remember the morning. I realized that conference is just around the corner as I watched the gardeners busy at work, covering the grounds with flowers. I love this time of year! As we walked around, William saying "Hi Sisters" to all the sister missionaries, I thought about how nice it will be to cuddle up on the couch with a sweet new little baby girl while watching and listening to our latter-day prophets. I also thought about how nice it will be to have a Cheesecake Factory just a few blocks away. The combination of the two things sounds marvelous.

Tiny diapers in the drawer, bassinet ready, cute baby girl clothes washed, camera battery charged, William's sleepover bag packed (maybe I should pack mine). Most of the most important and urgent things are done, ready, and waiting, but it sure feels like there is still a whole lot to do before baby comes! Day time I tell myself she can't come early, so that I can get as much done as I can. Nights I think how wonderful it could be if she were to come early. So we are playing the waiting game! Less than 2 weeks till our due date! Until then we are keeping busy...

William got a new haircut. If you couldn't tell. 

He also loves wearing Mr. Potato Head pieces. I don't know where he gets it from.

What a stud. He must come by it naturally.
