William the Wiggle Worm
It's amazing how much these little people change in just a few short weeks! I love watching William start to make connections as he learns and grows. This is one of William's favorite toys:
The brand is GloWorld. If you look closely you will see that the little bugs on the mat are not little bugs. They are Glow Worms! Those fun worm guys whose faces light up! William loves lying on his mat, staring up at all the toys and colors. There have been quite a few times when we've taken him out and he'll start to cry until we put him back. It's so funny! It's great to watch him in it. He's finding his voice more and more, and he'll lay there wiggling and talking.
It's fun to catch him staring at the toys. Every once in a while he'll bump them on accident, but then you'll catch him just staring at it, hands still in the air, as if he knows that he some how made it move, but not quite sure how to go about doing it again.
This, by the way, is his concerned look. It's starting to happen less often, but it's one of his most common facial expressions! Just looking around, trying to soak it all in!
Even though he's still little, he's growing so fast! We weighed him about a week ago and he was about nine and a half pounds! Way to go William!
Cousins
Growing up I never had cousins my age. The closest was a couple years older, and most were boys. I always wished I had had a cousin or two that were my age. William however, is a very lucky guy. He has some great cousins that are all close to his age!
Here he is at Grandma and Grandpa Young's house, playing with Grandpa and cousin Thomas. Although William can't respond much yet, they are so cute together. Thomas just smiles and reaches for Will. It's so fun to watch them!
We can't wait until they can start playing together. I have a feeling they are all going to be great friends!
Here he is, less than a week old with his other cousins, Jackson, Kensie and Lincoln. These three cousins have a little brother on the way, coming about a month and a half away! We can't wait! These three are always so excited to see William (or Baby Wilman as Jackson calls him).
We can't wait for him to meet Max next month when they come to visit from Florida!

So Cute
William had his first official photo shoot (besides the occassional with Grandpa T) today. We got a coupon to Sears Portrait Studio (those coupons can be very misleading by the way...) so we took advantage! My mom and I found this cute cute outfit at Janie and Jack, which is definitely one of my favorite clothing store for kids! They've gotten all of their spring clothes in so we lucked out and found this on sale! (By the way... these overalls make me melt ... I don't know how long I can keep myself from them! William's legs need to fill out a little bit first... can you imagine his cute skinny legs sticking out the bottom of this?! Too cute).
Anyway, William did great! It was fun to get his picture taken while he's still so little...

A few of my favorite things...
Another crazy week has come and gone! My older sister was over today and she hadn't seen William in a week. We were marveling yet again at how much this little guy can change in a week! It's been fun to find the things that William loves. It's interesting because these little newborns can't show much emotion. One thing we know he loves is eating. Which is probably why I haven't posted in the last week. That's about all we do lately! One of our other favorite activities is taking bathes. Honestly, I know he doesn't NEED a bath every night, but for the last week it has become a favorite activity! It started partially because Grandma Tyler LOVES giving babies baths. And sometimes he really does need it (with all of his fountains). But giving him a bath before he really goes to bed at night definitely calms him down! He sleeps so much better during the nights when he has a bath first!
He rarely cries in his little tub, as long as he has a washcloth on his chest and his feet are in the water. He hates cold feet! He just sits there looking around, soaking it all in. We've been using Johnson's Bedtime Bath Soap and it works wonders! I love how good he smells after, too!
He does cry when we take him from the water to the towel, but as soon as we wrap him up he cuddles right up!

What a stud!

I also love watching this kid sleep! He loves the Utes, but was a little embarrassed by their performance the other night against BYU...
He's starting to fill out, too! Yes, he is still a tall skinny little guy, but he's starting to get a nice little belly and some extra skin on his arms and legs! Not quite as skinny! Oh, and speaking of loving watching him sleep...he likes to wiggle out of his blankets and we usually find him with his arms above his head like this.
What a stud!
