Wednesday was Danny's and Spencer's 30th birthday (woo hoo!) so Andrea and I had been plotting all month to throw them a surprise party. Amazingly enough it worked! We had their parents distract them on Saturday so we could get things ready and had tons of family show up before they got there. It was a fun surprise! We have some great pictures, but I haven't gotten around to loading them off our camera, so they will come later. I also surprised Danny with one of our brother-in-laws paintings for his office. I was amazed that I could keep all these secrets from Danny for over a month! Even with all the slips we made neither one suspected a thing. It was perfect.
Other then that we have just been busy trying to settle into our new apartment. We don't miss the old view of all the windows. The two windows right above the balcony is where "naked lady" lived. After a while we noticed they were gone and were pretty relieved, only to find that they had only moved up and over a couple apartments. They are hard to miss when their blinds are always open.
Now we are happy that we can keep ours open all the time and not worry about what we'll see, or if other people can look in. That picture was taken the day we officially moved out. He was pretty upset that the toys weren't on the balcony anymore. He loves playing out there.
William is a champ (as always) and has been patient with the mess as we find places for everything. He keeps us very entertained. Lately we've been trying to be consistent with teeth brushing. He LOVES it. He'll stand on the stool in front of the sink and mirror for 20 minutes (it would be longer if I didn't finally drag him away) sucking water off his tooth brush and playing with his reflection in the mirror. Lately he loves "telling jokes". I was sitting next to the sink waiting for him to be done when he started laughing and laughing at his reflection. He is so funny!
Our other funny moment of the week was when William was playing on the balcony. To avoid a fight I changed his stinky diaper on the balcony instead of dragging him inside (notice how green it is through the lattise. We just see trees and vines when we look off. Hooray for privacy!). I went back inside leaving him out playing with his cars and a few minutes later I looked out to see him giggling to himself as he pulled out each wipe from the case, one by one and threw it into the air. He's such a goof. He definitely keeps life from getting boring!
So that's our excitement lately! We look forward to a busy Saturday... Avenues Street Fair in the morning, Greek Festival after nap time, and ending the day with the U game!
And to see this guy as a big brother!
