Two (and a half) month check up!

Last week we took William in to Dr Fox for his two month check up! So here are his 2 1/2 month stats:
Weight: 11.8 pounds 34th percentile
He jumped up from the 15th percentile! Woo hoo.
Length: 24.25 inches 79th percentile

He's a growing boy! Still long and skinny. I'm so excited for summer to see his cute skinny legs sticking out of his summer shorts.


I'm happy to say that he is eating a lot better than he was. For the weeks before and after his tongue was clipped feeding him was a battle. Poor kid just got so frustrated as he tried to eat. He still has his ups and downs, but it's not nearly as bad as it was. The lactation lady showed us some "suck training" to do with him to help draw his tongue out. We've been trying, but he doesn't really respond to it. I think the best suck training has been this:

He loves to suck on his fist! And I don't think I've ever seen him stick his tongue out as far as he does when that fist is at his mouth. I think that has helped him figure out how to suck more than anything! He's still working at it, and still gets frustrated sometimes, but it's a relief that he's starting to figuring it out! Now hopefully he'll figure out how to stay asleep on his own... :)


One more random thing: he likes to take naps in Grandma's parka.

One evening when Danny and I went out, we left him with my mom. When we came back this is how we found him! She put him in her coat because it was chilly, but she thought he was going to wake up soon, so she didn't take him down to his bed. Well, three hours later he was still zonked out in the parka! He is so funny! We can almost always count on him to take a good nap when he's in there!
