It has been a crazy couple of weeks (well, let's be honest. A crazy couple of months) and we have some exciting news. Danny found a great job at a firm downtown! Congratulations to him. I can't lie, it's been a little lonely without him. He is a great dad and awesome husband, and I have been spoiled to have him around so much for the last few months. He was still pretty busy with his internship at the Church Office Building and translating for the Japanese Bar Association, but his schedule was pretty flexible. William and I both have LOVED getting to see him. So I can't lie... it's bitter sweet. It is very exciting though. I'm very lucky to have such an amazing husband!

A week ago William James was given his baby blessing. It was another very exciting day for our family! Grandma Tyler made him his cute little blessing outfit. She's a pretty amazing seamstress. It was so nice to be surrounded by such supportive family. Here are some pictures Grandpa T took.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for William, too. Poor guy. We had to take him in last week to get his tongue clipped. Nursing has always been a little hard, but it was getting worse and worse. Out of desperation of not wanting to quit, I gave in and called a lactation consultant. I was pretty hesitant, but was so glad that I did. Angela Allred and Julie Johnson were a HUGE help. Let me tell you. If you have any problems nursing I highly recommend them. I talked to one when William was a week old, and felt like I was being judged. I couldn't even ask a question before she started answering something else. It was frustrating. These two however, were a whole other story. They were super optimistic and helpful! It was so nice to hear that we were doing everything right, but William was tongue-tied, which made it so he couldn't use his tongue very well to suck.
So we made an appt with an oral surgeon and took him in. It was a pretty simple process, but he was SO mad. We had to swaddle him to hold his arms down, then I laid down on the chair and held him down while another nurse held his head still and the doctor had his fingers in William's mouth. It's thrown him off a little bit, and it'll take some time for him to figure out how to use his tongue, but it's getting better.
Two weeks ago he was up to 10 lbs 6 oz, and has been averaging a pound every 2 weeks. I can't believe he is over two months old now! His eyes are looking bluer and his hair is looking blonder. He's starting to drool a lot. He is one dang cute kid! He is such a good baby!

Congratulations on the job! Beautiful pictures! I am glad you found good breastfeeding help. There are so many lactation consultants who seriously aren't even helpful. I talked to a lot of them, unfortunately!
