happenings

May has been a busy month! Annie is now 2 1/2 months old, and gets sweeter every day. She really is the perfect baby. She rarely fusses, and when she does you know she really needs something. Her fussiest moments are usually at night, so sometimes it takes a while to calm her down for bed. Bed time isn't too consistent yet, depending on how naps go, but she's usually sleeping from 8:30 or 9 (or 9:30) to around 5, eats, then goes back to sleep until 8 or 8:30. Pretty good! William continues to be a wonderful big brother, except for occasionally playing a little too rough. She loves watching him play though... I can tell they are going to be good buddies. We've been so lucky to have both of our babies be so good and so happy! We sure love them!!
 I love her blue eyes!

We like hanging out in our jammies. If William could get away with it he would be in his jammies all day. He loves lying down right next to her and cuddling with her, or giggling in her ear. She loves it.
We went to the Zoo to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. It's always fun to go with cousins. We are excited to go next week after all the new stuff opens!
Here is William enjoying a piece of yummy birthday cake when we celebrated cousin Jackson's birthday.
It doesn't look too bad in that picture, but his sides needed a trim. So last night I told him it was time for a haircut, and he did NOT want to cooperate. He said everything he could think of to get out of it while I got his seat ready. Finally, in desperation, he looked right at me and said, "I go to sleep!" and ran to his room where we found him trying to get in his crib! I should tell him he needs a haircut every night if he's that willing to go to bed over it!

Look alikes

While posting those bathtime pictures of Ann, we kept thinking how much she looks like William, so I decided to go see what pictures we had of William when he was just a few months old. Here's one we found:

2 months

This little miss is 2 months old! It's hard to think that there was a time when she wasn't with us. She fits so well into our little family.

This little lady is sure growing fast! Her 2 month stats are:

Height:23 1/2 inches (88th percentile)
Weight: 11 lbs 4 oz (61st percentile)

She's already a very social girl, and smiles at every chance she gets. She is starting to make all kinds of cute noises, and loves having conversations with anyone who will listen!

If you can't tell, she loves the bath tub, although I think she's out-growing this one pretty fast.
She's getting pretty good at holding little things in her hands, and William loves sharing his toys with her (who knows how long that will last!!), although he was pretty nervous when Woody's hat went in her mouth!
Last night she slept for 8 hours before waking up to eat again! She's averaging7-8 hours a night, waking up at 4 or 5 to eat, and then going back to sleep until around 8. Heaven!
She's such a sweetheart! We love having this happy baby in our family!

cousin fun

I think there is very little that William really loves more than playing with his cousin Thomas. Andrea and I really enjoy these playdates, because Thomas and William play so well together, so we can sit and chat, or craft, or whatever we feel like. Today we just played outside. Perfect weather.

Thomas showed us the quail's nest under his slide. It's tucked way underneath, far enough that we were all amazed that Thomas found it all on his own!
Cute Dallin loves sitting up, and loved the grass.

He melts my heart every time I look at him!

Ann took a good nap inside, so I got to play with this little man and watch the boys run around.

There was some good trampoline fun, too. These boys are right on the same page with their Toy Story and Cars obsessions, and are very good at sharing their toys!

They are boys of summer, so thank goodness it's here!

Blessed

On Sunday Danny gave Ann a name and a blessing in church. Ann Eddington is named after her two grandmas. Most of the time I was pregnant with her, Ann Eddington was one of our top three names, but I always had my doubts, even up to our trip to the hospital. But as they handed me our beautiful little newborn girl, I felt strongly that she was to be named after her grandmas. One look at her and I knew that she was an Ann! They are both incredible women, and we hope that she'll be able to become like them!
My mom made her blessing dress out of left-over fabric from my wedding dress, which she also made. So much time and love went into every detail on it, and even the slip underneath is a work of art. I love her name and birthday that is embroidered on the inside hem.
My older brother Leo knit her a soft bonnet to wear with the dress. He has some pretty mean knitting skills. I had no idea he had been working on it, so it was a neat surprise!
We are so grateful for our families and all of their love and support! It was great to have them there with us to celebrate such an important day in Ann's life.
It was fun to have my baby brother Ted there, and able to participate in the blessing. He leaves in TWO WEEKS for the MTC!

It was also a neat day because there were 4 generations present:
My grandma (my mom's mom), me, Ann, and my mom (also Ann)

My friend Candace helped me get some great pictures of my two munchkins and of Annie in her dress. It's so hard to get pictures of William sometimes, but Candace did a great job, and really captured them! I love the pictures of them together. William really loves Ann, and you can tell that she really loves him, too!

The picture on the left is one of my favorites, because it really shows the stages that these two are in right now... I often catch William laying on the floor in this position, very carefully and very focused, driving his cars around, usually within a few feet of Ann, where she is taking the world in with her bright eyes, looking at everything around her.

A few days later, Ann was being so smiley, so I put her back in her dress to get some pictures of her while she was in such a good mood. Of course the smiles stopped, but she's still pretty darn cute!

By the time we thought about taking a family picture after church and lunch, William was over-due for a nap, so this is the best we could get (and a picture of William wouldn't be complete without Buzz or another character from Toy Story or Cars). I'm lucky to have such a wonderful husband, and we are so blessed to have such sweet kids!!

The last few weeks...

Our laptop decided to stop working for a while, so we haven't had many opportunities to get online. Hopefully we'll get it back soon! Until then, I thought I'd put a couple of pictures up and give a quick update.
Ann is a month and a half, and we love her to pieces. It's almost as if we can't imagine her ever not being here. William is so sweet to her. I love watching her lay down on the ground next to her and snuggle his face up to hers.

We've been enjoying the warm weather as well. The flowers at Temple Square are beautiful as always. The bright and vibrant colors are always so incredible in the spring!
Sunday strolls are becoming a weekly thing!
William amazes us daily at things he says. He really has such an imaginative mind. He also loves singing. He surprised us the other day by singing the ABC's almost perfectly. We sing it to him a lot, but he's never sung it back to us! He also loves singing "You've Got a Friend In Me" from Toy Story, and often requests us to sing the Utah Fight Song.
We also loved having Ben, Andrea, and Max in town. William and Max got to have lots of time to play together. They are finally at the point where they play together. In the fall, when we had our family reunion at the ranch William was just a bit to small to be able to keep up with Max, so it was fun to watch them run around together, and go for rides in the Jeep.

Sweet Annie is growing like crazy. She's starting to sleep a little bit longer at night, and has been smiling and cooing like crazy lately. We can't get enough of those cheeks!
